THE COMMITTEE
The JCR has a committee made up of students, who are all here to help you!
The Executive

I’m Isadora, a second year biomedic from Paris (but I'm not French), and I’m your JCR VP/Treasurer as well as International Students’ Rep.
As Treasurer, I’m in charge of allocating and managing the JCR’s budget. This money is used to better all aspects of student life, from funding societies and sports clubs to providing free period products in the bathrooms in college. As JCR members, you’ll get a say in how this money is spent at JCR meetings! I’ll also be the one leading the yearly rent discussions with college alongside Manon, the President.
As VP, I work closely with Manon and Shaaon, the other VP, to coordinate all sorts of JCR related initiatives and events. One of my most important jobs is to be a friendly face around college, to help you and answer any questions you may have about the JCR or life at Univ. While I may not have the answer to every problem, I will definitely be able to redirect you towards someone who can help!
Until December, when you elect someone new to the position, I’ll be your International Students’ Rep. My job is to advocate for the Internationals at college, which usually tends to revolve around storage during the vac. I also have compiled an International Student’s Guide to Admin, which you can find on the JCR website.

I’m Manon (she/her), a second year History student from London and I’ll be your JCR President for the academic year. As JCR President, my job is to be the JCR’s (the undergraduates’) chief representative to College, working to improve college life for everyone by communicating students’ needs and views to College staff. I also work with and am supported by the JCR Committee who work hard putting on events and ensuring everything runs smoothly.
A key part of my role is to be available and open for all of you and to all JCR members to help with worries or concerns. Even if I can’t directly solve something, I will definitely be able to refer you to someone who can.

Hi! I’m Shaaon, a second year PPEist from Cambridge. This year, I am serving as your JCR Vice President/Affairs.
As Vice-President, my role is mainly to support Manon and assist her in communicating with all students in the JCR, and in discussions with key college staff.
Being head of JCR Affairs, or Secretary, I schedule, send out agendas for and minute our fortnightly JCR meetings. These are super accessible, so I really recommend attending and getting involved!
I am also in charge of the Operations side of the committee, so I work closely with the reps for: Academic Affairs, IT, Hall and Accommodation, Access, Environment and Freshers.
Apart from being JCR VP/Affairs, I am also Univ’s squash captain and enjoy playing in the college sports teams and doing pub quizzes around Oxford! If you have any questions at about the JCR, life at Univ, PPE or anything else, drop me an email!

Hello! I’m Alex, a second-year Lawyer from London, and one of your three welfare Reps for this year! With Alana and George, we are here to be a friendly face around Univ and offer support where needed :)
Each of you will have a different version of Oxford; it can be both a thrilling and a stressful time.
We try, through snacks and chill events, to help create a steady footing for all the things you’ll have to balance this year. I am always here for a chat and if you have any concerns you’re welcome to send me an email.

Hi! I’m Alana, a second-year Historian from Somerset, and one of your three welfare reps for this year. Along with Alex and George, I’m here to offer support and help keep Univ a friendly and inclusive environment.
Oxford is a wonderful place to live and study, but it’s also very normal to find it stressful and challenging sometimes. If things feel tough, the welfare reps can signpost you to the best people within Univ’s supportive welfare team.
Everyone deserves to feel at home here at Univ, so we’ll be organising fun and relaxed events to bring our community together, from weekly welfare teas to welfare week in 5th week of each term. Feedback to help make these events enjoyable for all is always welcome!

Hi, We’re Tiwa and Ava, and we’re both second year PPEists as well as your Hall and Accommodation reps this year!
As Hall and Accom reps our job is to help answer your questions about housing and dining throughout your time here at Univ. We serve as a point of contact between the JCR and college management for everything room and food related.
Primarily, we are in charge of running the ballots for choosing your accommodation for second and third year. This entails organising open houses, photographing rooms, and generally helping you to make informed decisions about where you’ll be living. However, if you have any questions about your upcoming accommodation in first year, we’re happy to answer those as well!
Additionally, we’re involved with both everyday dining and Univ’s biweekly formals.
We organise a few special dinners each year as well - details to follow soon. We are also happy to pass along any comments regarding meals to the kitchen team.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to send us an email.

Hi, I’m Ariana, a 2nd Year studying PPE from East London, and I am this year’s Access and Equal Opportunity Officer.
In this role, I will be working with the other liberation reps to run events at Univ, particularly for those from underrepresented backgrounds. It can be a great way to meet people, who may have similar experiences to you at Oxford. In addition, I will be helping with campaigns for equality, at Univ and across the university.
If you have any concerns relating to access, or ideas for events, please feel free to contact me (or just come up to me and say hi if you see me around college!).

Hi, I'm Dominic, a third year mathematician from Manchester and this year's Academic Officer. My job is to represent the JCR in all academic related things, including sitting on college's Academic Committee, publicising the various academic talks and workshops run by the Academic office, and meeting the Senior Tutor to voice any opinions or concerns. I can also be a point of contact if you have any academic difficulties or involved in disciplinary procedures with the college or the university.
If you have any questions or just want to chat about anything involving academics, feel free to email me.
Looking forward to meeting you all soon!

Hi everyone, I’m Flora. I’m a fourth year studying classics, and I’m the JCR photographer. I have a sideline in professional events photography, and my job as JCR photographer will involve me photographing as many in-college events as possible, like bops, sports matches, plays, concerts, and some themed formals. When I’m not doing this, you’ll probably find me doggedly advertising the music society. These photos will go onto our (private) JCR Facebook group, and some will make it onto the website. If you would not like to be photographed, please email me.

Advisory Roles
Advisory roles don't have any constitutional responsibilities but advise the current executive committee. They are held by recent members of the appropriate position.
Independent Roles
The independent roles of the JCR don't sit on any committee. They instead keep the JCR meetings running smoothly by moderating the meetings.
